What is Shanti's Vision?

Shanti Action Clubs

We intend to help encourage and facilitate young people into community volunteering all over the world.

Homes

We intend to open homes and schools all over the world for:

orphans
children whose parents are unable to take care of them
children whose parents are unable to provide them with an education

children whose parents want their children to benefit from what we offer, which their children can’t get elsewhere

All children will receive a normal education as well as special education in morality, dispute mediation, constructive-problem solving and leadership. They will also be encouraged from a young age into community volunteering, so they may acquire a strong sense of community belonging. Once they reach sixteen years of age, they will be offered the opportunity to be moved to our other homes in other countries, and be mixed with other young people from our other homes all over the world. In this way we hope they will develop a 'global citizen' type mentality, as they get used to living with other young people from many different cultural backgrounds.

When they graduate they may return to their place of origin, where it is hoped they will have the potential to become pillars of the community. This way, they may help resolve the world's problems, beginning at a community level.

You can follow the progress of our work through this website.

Child Slavery

We intend to become involved in work to locate and identify child slaves, free them and finally rehabilitate them. We will also be looking to extend our work to adults.

Child Soldiers

We intend to become involved in rehabilitating former child soldiers.

How you can you help?
